Gardening - the Ultimate Stress Relief Activity

Stress is something that most people have to deal and find ways of coping with. It seems that everybody is leading such busy and hectic lives that we sometimes start to feel the onset of stress, but don’t know what to do about it.
My ultimate stress relieving activity is gardening. Whenever I feel my stress levels start to rise or I feel that I need some time out, I go out into my garden.
I just love smelling the beautifully fragrant flowers, watching the insects buzzing around, checking on my fruit and vegetable plants growing, and enjoying the warm sunshine on my skin.
I instantly feel more at ease and definitely believe there is a connection between being close to nature and feeling more serene and tranquil in your everyday life.
Gardening allows me to slow down, block out all the thoughts and worries that made me feel stressed in the first place, and focus my energy on something
I truly love and get enjoyment out of. It is such a simple activity, that anybody can participate in, even if it means having a few pot plants on a balcony. Being surrounded by living, natural things definitely helps to ease feelings of stress.
It isn’t just me, because I meet many like-minded people, who also enjoy gardening, and they all agree that it gives them a great sense of well being and satisfaction. There is a reason why gardeners always appear to be happy! I would highly recommend gardening as a stress reliever to anybody.
