How to save our ecosystem from dwindling........

Today the environmental impact has taken its toll on the natural habitats and living things, both endangered and extinct. Human activities have resulted in severe negative impact on the ecosystem. Agricultural land is being lost because of soil degradation and use of fertilizers and pesticides. Wetlands are slowly being lost. Mining and drilling in many areas have lead to land degradation along with environmental pollution.
Day by day the different species of flora and fauna are becoming less and less and are threatened to be on the verge of extinction. The tsunami on December 2004 has caused severe damage. There are a very few endangered species of animals, birds, fishes and amphibians remaining and we have to make an effort to save them.
Mangrove forests, coral reefs have been degraded in the last few decades. Forests are being cleared off at regular intervals to give rise to high-rise apartments. The greenery around the earth is slowly declining which has lead to global warming. Glaciers in Polar Regions are melting and severe heat wave, cyclones and hurricanes have become common. Small islands are under threat of being submerged because of the rise in sea level. These all are the impact of sudden changes in the weather .Oil spills and leaks are regularly taking place in the seas and oceans leading to serious impact on the marine and coastal life.
We should take our nature and ecosystem seriously and should join hands to save the earth. What drives me crazy is that the benefits that people derive from this planet Earth comes free of cost. So they rarely think of improving the environment .We should think that the future generations enjoy a carefree and healthy life.
